Anyone know where I can get this in Birmingham (UK). It must be around
somewhere but I've never seen it - only ever come across it referred to in the
other mags eg DJ, Mixmag.
I dunno, but every dance mag always seems to gravitate towards clubbing (by
which I mean the standard house nights which seem to dominate the current
magazine listings) and the house end of the music. Generator is the most
"techno" mag widely available here, and even they've been erring on getting
housier, though one or two letters of complaint have been registered there.
Of course its only natural that a mag which relates to "dance" music should
include clubbing as a subject, but I'm just hoping that this new publication
(Muzik) can keep enough attention away from the mainstream house/handbag/garage
side of things and really give the techno, ambient, dub, tripped out and
generally less commercial scene a real look in, especially in terms of reviews,
and seeking out those clubs where it's not all about ecstasy, dressing up
and 125bpm.
got that off my chest.
later,
J
